Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Mathew Mathew is a distinguished biomedical scientist and executive leader with a dynamic career spanning clinical research, academic leadership, and innovation in regenerative medicine. He earned his PhD from Stratclyde University in Glasgow, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in Portugal, laying the foundation for his global perspective on translational science and healthcare innovation.

Dr. Mathew has held key clinical research roles in orthopedics at both Rush University and the University of Illinois College of Medicine campuses in Chicago and Rockford. Currently, Dr. Mathew leads a pioneering regenerative medicine laboratory, where he holds multiple patents in cancer therapeutics, orthopedic tissue engineering, and endodontic (root canal) regeneration. His research is focused on developing novel, clinically relevant solutions that reshape the future of healing.

In addition to his CEO role, Dr. Mathew serves as Director of Faculty Research at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford, where he mentors emerging researchers and drives interdisciplinary collaborations.With a unique combination of scientific rigor, clinical insight, and entrepreneurial spirit, Dr. Mathew is committed to transforming biomedical innovation into real-world impact.

Innovation Advisor

Charles Frisbie brings a powerful combination of business acumen, financial expertise, and organizational leadership to his role as Business Executive Officer at RJ Solutions. With a career spanning both corporate finance and innovation management, Charles plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's business strategy and ensuring operational excellence across all divisions.

He currently serves as the Medical Device Labs Director at the UIC Innovation Center, where he has spent the past four years leading interdisciplinary teams in the development and commercialization of cutting-edge medical technologies. Prior to this, he was a Business Manager at Coyne Architects, where he oversaw operations, budgeting, and strategic growth initiatives.

With an MBA and a Bachelor's in Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Charles also brings extensive experience as an accounting and business consultant. His background has equipped him with a sharp understanding of fiscal management, project execution, and scalable organizational design.

At RJ Solution, Charles is at the heart of building a strong internal structure, driving sustainable growth, and aligning day-to-day operations with long-term vision. His leadership ensures the company remains agile, financially sound, and positioned for continued innovation.

BUSINESS ADVISOR

Dr. Flavin brings a wealth of experience at the intersection of science, business, and innovation. He is a research professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Dr. Flavin previously served as Chairman and CEO of Advanced Life Sciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel therapeutics in infectious disease and oncology. He is currently the CEO of Shamrock Structures, a company that supports pharmaceutical researchers by providing access to advanced technologies and expertise that accelerate drug discovery and lead compound development.

In addition, he is the Managing Director of Flavin Ventures, a business advisory firm dedicated to supporting high-growth life science companies with strategic management and operational guidance.

With decades of leadership across academia, biopharmaceutical innovation, and corporate strategy, Dr. Flavin's expertise is an invaluable asset to RJ Solutions as we continue to grow and serve our partners in the health and life sciences industries.

Financial Advisor

Melvin Thomas serves as the Financial Advisor to RJ Solutions, bringing a rare blend of financial acumen, business leadership, and service-oriented values to the organization. A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and an Enrolled Agent (EA) authorized by the IRS, he offers deep expertise in tax strategy, financial planning, and regulatory compliance.

With over a decade of management experience at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, he developed a strong foundation in operational finance, strategic oversight, and client service. He later transitioned into the tax and consulting space, currently serving as a Consultant at Integrated Tax Services and the Principal/Owner of Tolv Tax and Business Solutions, where he advises individuals and businesses on complex financial matters.

At RJ Solutions, he plays a critical role in managing the company’s financial health—overseeing budgeting, tax planning, and fiscal strategy. His diverse background allows him to approach financial stewardship with insight, integrity, and a holistic understanding of both corporate and individual financial ecosystems.

Ruth Mathew is a rising leader at the intersection of science, communication, and innovation. A pre-medical student entering her junior year at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), she is majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Professional Writing. Her academic background uniquely positions her to contribute to both the scientific and strategic messaging arms of the company.

As a board member, Ruth plays a vital role in shaping the company’s public image and outreach. She supports marketing initiatives, refines messaging, and liaises with the press to ensure that complex scientific advancements are communicated clearly and effectively to broader audiences.

Ruth brings hands-on research experience in stem cell biology, cancer diagnostics, and cardiovascular imaging, including echocardiography. She was instrumental in the development of PancreaAlert, an early-detection diagnostic tool for pancreatic cancer that exemplifies her passion for translational medicine and innovation.

Looking ahead, Ruth plans to attend medical school and pursue a dual career in clinical care and medical research. Her commitment to improving patient outcomes through science and storytelling continues to make her a valuable asset to the organization’s leadership and mission.

Jeffrey Mathew is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University, where he is majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology on the pre-medical track. With a strong interest in the intersection of science, technology, and human health, Jeffrey brings both analytical precision and creative vision to his work.

At RJ Solutions, Jeffrey leads the company’s branding and marketing initiatives, managing all social media platforms and guiding the organization’s digital strategy. His ability to translate complex scientific ideas into accessible and engaging content has made him an invaluable voice in shaping the company’s public presence.

Beyond his work at RJ Solutions, Jeffrey is actively involved in prostate cancer research and is developing skills in Python programming and 3D printing. These interests reflect his broader commitment to biomedical innovation and problem-solving at the molecular level.

Looking to the future, Jeffrey plans to pursue an MD/PhD with the ambitious goal of developing a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. He is deeply motivated to combine clinical practice with cutting-edge research to make a lasting impact on the lives of patients and families affected by neurodegenerative disorders.
